New Home for the Barn Owls

Our beautiful Barn Owls that we have hand raised have finally found a new home! We built an aviary especially for them and a new project we have decided to tackle.  Ubizane is proudly entering the world of bird rehabilitation and we invite the public to bring any birds of prey that needs rehabilitation to our brand new aviary!  We went from an open patch of grass with only a few poles to a full aviary in only a couple of weeks time.

A new beginning

We have recently set all plans in motion by beginning construction on our bird aviary! The aviary will serve as a home for our rescued Barn Owls and other birds of similar circumstances.  We decided to build an aviary in a central location at Tree Lodge not only for our owls to have more space to move around during the rehabilitating process but also so we can have an area that's more guest-friendly. Watch this space for updates on the progress of this exciting new venture!

Renovations at Ubizane

Ubizane has been working throughout the past couple of years to renovate the lodge and ensure that it’s modern and in perfect condition for our guests.  Our latest venture is to renovate the pathway leading to Tree Lodge Boma.  We realised that wet conditions made the pathway slippery and dangerous so we decided to rebuild it to make it safer to use by guests.  These photos show the building process of our brand new pathway with staff working hard to finish it:
