A summer morning game drive....

5 O'clock this morning our guests were woken up, to cookies, rusks, coffee and tea . All for a trip into The Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Park with our senior ranger Hamilton, who has worked with Ubizane for more than a decade.

When leaving Ubizane, the guests where thrilled to see one of our many nursery herd of Impala along a large amount of different bird species.
The drive to The Hluhluwe/Imfolozi park takes around 10-15 minuets in our open top Land Rover. So the morning breeze was not too much to handle for our guests and was rather refreshing. The drive itsself is along a quite road and one can see the true beauty of rural African living, with the view of cows on the hills and buck scattered among the fence-lines of numerous game reserves.
On arrival at the park Hamilton hops out and runs into the office and organises the tickets, all the while the guests can chill out and breath in the fresh South African air. Once all the tickets and bits and bobs are finished they head forward into a park where they have chances of seeing, buffalo, blue wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, elephant, and large numbers of impala, water buck, common and mountain reed buck, nyala, kudu, bush buck, steenbuck, duiker, warthog, black and white rhino, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal with also 300 species of bird. Its an exhilarating experience for our guests especially for those whom have lived in major cities all there life and never experienced the real "wild".

Our ranger Hamilton has a long history of experience and he knows where to find what the guests are secretly looking for, following tracks is a talent and boy 'o boy he's got it. He surprises our guests with the sight of the African elephant, and then giggles to himself due to the look of shock among their faces.
Our guests where thrilled, to see many different species of large mammals and birds.

However Evan though the early morning drive was at a perfect time for our guests, i guess the lions didn't agree as they didn't make an appearance. Hami was happy at this as he had watched the Friday night movie on E.TV, "Prey", a thriller where the game ranger gets eaten by a Lion in a Big 5 Nature reserve.

The guests came back with a smile from cheek to cheek and where allured into the restaurant by the delicious smell of bacon eggs and all the other delicious delights scattered among the buffet table!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!
And Enjoy the week ahead!

Love,
The Team.

P.S: don' for get about our summer special!!!
